Palio stress

It is now exactly one week until Il Palio. (If you aren't already coming*, why the hell not?)

Golly, this autocratting stuff isn't like in the brochure at all. Enjoyable as many aspects of it may be, I will be very glad to have it over with.

*and are in the SCA, in New England, and not flying to Australia that day (a surprisingly common excuse)

Hey, I'm not flying to Australia until the next day.

My plan is to be there for the fighting; and earlier if you need stuff transported to the event. Then I'm going to bug out for Buttery Birthday Party. That's not my normal practice, but I missed BBP last year.

It is exactly as advertised in the brochure. The problem is, the brochure comes with this nifty red-tinted glasses -- and prints the crucial steps in red ('cuz, you know, they're important). So, when wearing the glasses, the crucial steps vanish, and the rest of the brochure has this distinctly rosy tint...

I already told your wife I'd be there, but I forgot to mail my prereg check because I was at a funeral and also because I am dumb.
