Friday saw HP4. Have not read the book, thought the film was pretty good. People who have read book the complained that it was chopped up and unintelligible. Not surprising with a 700-page book in 160 minutes, though I didn't think it was unintelligible, though perhaps bits not sufficiently motivated. Also, the 17-year-olds playing 14-year-olds does not really work. They mostly come off as 17-year-olds here, so if you ignore them constantly saying they're 14 it sort of works.

Also went to 3 Scorpios birthday, which was fun but wound down much earlier than I expected.

Saturday played in The Fisher Expedition, a BYOG larp from [livejournal.com profile] natbudin, [livejournal.com profile] tpau, V, and J. It wasn't bad, for a game written in 24 hours, and at least I got to have some good byplay with [livejournal.com profile] baron_saturday.

Sunday went and worked on armor, bringing it to more reasonable condition except for the shield, which I still need to pick up some hardware for.

I quite enjoyed HP. I liked it better then the book, which I thought was unfocused and overlong. The chopping down to one coherent plotline improved it for me.

Likewise on the Fisher Expedition. I wish we had done a little more byplay, but there were women to molest, and duty called. :-)

On the party front (not that I was there, but you know) I find as I age (gracefully) that I can still party as long and as hard as I used to, I just pay for it a little more over the next couple days. And while, I may not have [livejournal.com profile] new_man's strong Russian constitution, I'll still put myself up against anyone and see who wins. :-)
