Wow. Sin City panel-to-shot comparison here (contains spoilers). Really, the only difference between the two is that the comic characters are uglier.

Yeah, that pretty much confirms my impressions. When the first trailers came out, my immediate reaction was, "Hey -- I've *read* that!"

It looks like they used the comic as the official storyboard, so that the discussion was always of the form, "How do we do *this*?", not "What should we do?" Very interesting stuff. I never thought I would see a comic adaptation to film that was truer than Hellboy, but this seems to go several steps further...
