Alright, I am (for the moment) caught up on LJ for the first time in maybe a month. See how long that lasts.

Meanwhile, last night went to see Howl's Moving Castle. Typical Myazaki stuff: very pretty, lots of enigmatic magical stuff, and a bevy of hypercute creatures. Plot somewhat tangential, not unusually, with a sort of pulled-from-nowhere ending. This does not significantly detract from the overall entertainment value.

Thank you. chiefoperator and I went to see it last night. Your review prepared me to be not-snarky about plot issues and just enjoy it for what it was. chiefoperator pointed out how good the sound was at the beginning, how realistic the footsteps were in contrast to the visuals. The whole thing was kind of a Wow! experience.
