[livejournal.com profile] tpau's been waiting for a package shipped via DHL for a couple of days, and we were starting to wonder where it'd got off to. I checked again when I got home, but... no package, no note. A few minutes later I hear a knocking on my door, and it's the downstairs neighbor; the DHL guy showed up, decided through some mystical non-doorbell, non-knocking means that I wasn't home, and knocked on her door. She signed for it and then noticed my car was there, so knocked on mine.

So, uh, I vaguely comprehend a lazy delivery guy deciding I wasn't home without any attempt at all to determine if I were, but why would he then make a special effort to deliver it to not-the-intended-recipient? People are not logical beings.

DHL sucks even worse than most delivery systems.

DHL desperately deserves feedback about the delivery. I mean, really desperately.

I will never use DHL again. They didn't want to delivery a package to my parent's house because it was cold and icy outside, and so rather than delaying delivery a day or two until the ice was cleared, they DELETED THE PACKAGE FROM THEIR TRACKING SYSTEM. It took me a month to get the package delivered, and let me tell you, January 20th makes a much less effective christmas-present-delivery-time than December 20th. Grrr....
