I think I am now completely out of the tricky artistic position previously discussed. I had almost thought everything was neatly solved, but A did an about face and said he didn't think we could share control. Given my relationship with the project, I stepped out.

So, a mixed bag.

So... he's directing and choreographing? Or someone else came in with a scenario? And are you going to audition?

Yes he is, no one else was prepared to direct, and... he'd like me to be in the show, but I dunno.

If you do decide to audition, expect to be cast. If you are cast, you don't have the luxury of deciding to decline at that point. If you are in the show, you need to give it your all (that's true of most shows, but seems particularly true here). If you're not interested in doing that -- for whatever reason -- don't audition.
