Odd luck, or am I just the only one who cares?

My car radio has a bug. It's started displaying a comma in the middle of the time/frequency, e.g. "1,1:15" or "1,00.7". Since it disappears momentarily with the rest of the digits when the display changes, I'd guess it isn't burnt into the LCD. It has only just started doing this, too.

maybe it's gone into European mode, somehow? Did you reboot your car recently? (disconnect the battery for some length of time, or hit the long-term-storage switch, if any, with your knee...)

In general this is called "character", and adds to the "enjoyment" of a "mature" vehicle.

"Your, lights... are. open."

Well, I did get rather rough with it to make it start on Wednesday. I'm dubious that the poor anthropomorphized radio was so scar(r)ed by that that it needed to get all faux-european.

Enjoyment, eh? Like how you used to enjoy your Nissan mumbling fractured phrases at you?

You must have one of those new-fangled european style radios. Be careful, i hear there is a worse bug in there: You can only listen to European techno and redubbed versions of American pop songs. Oh, and the all opera station. That's not too bad I guess. If that starts happening, I would definitely see if you accidentally set the 'currence' switch on the back the wrong way. If it says '110' you're fine, but if it says '220' then you have switched the whole thing into Euro-Funky mode, which causes the problems.

Yeah! Pick on something that can defend itself.
Polka maybe... or accordian music.
Europop is far tooooo easy a target.

(How could anyone make a techno version of "What shall we do with the drunken sailor?" and live with themselves in the morning. I mean I wouldn't do that! Not even on the good drugs...)

so you would say that these commas are giving you pause? interesting.

Wow, you got one of those glowbugs, too? I had one but it was a little bigger. It made my 0s look like 8s and 1s look like +s. I finally opened up the LED cover carefully--be sure to be properly grounded--and pried the little guy off. It was pretty frazzled from having current run through it nearly constantly because I just about always listen to 90.9 on the way to work but it shook it off pretty quickly and crawled off. Sounds like you got a baby one. Rescue the poor thing!
