(no subject)

Anime Boston was a lot of fun. I didn't know that many people there, but I did run into some long-unseen old friends, including [livejournal.com profile] perbac, which was way nifty.

Saw a fair amount of new anime, played some obscure Japanese-import arcade games (whatever DDR-with-hands is called has been around for a while, but I'd never actually played before. Amusing if not as galvanizing as DDR. It's a bit like a theremin, actually), bought some stuff (finally found someplace that had Lone Wolf & Cub #2 in stock) and got handed random free stuff, saw a lot of very well made anime music videos, and danced to classic Nintendo game music. (Note to self: although dancing is fun, dancing is much more fun if you bring people you know.)

So, yeah, I was worried for nothing.

I also bought some Pocky G(!), on [livejournal.com profile] perbac's advice, being as it is both Hard(!) and Rich(!). Will try some in... about twenty hours.

Which reminds me: Anime Boston is fun, but trying to eat pesadic (huh, Google and Dictionary.com offer no insight into the standard transliteration... should there be an 'h' there?) in downtown Boston is annoying.

Well? Was it both hard and rich?

"Pocky G"? Is this a new flavor, or some other variant?

It's not a flavor per se. It's thicker and harder than standard Pocky, with both cookie and coating of dark chocolate. It's actually more like what I expected Men's Pocky to be than Men's Pocky is; it's kind of Extra Crispy.

I'll bring some tomorrow, along with the strange new flavor that seems to be popular. I forwent the Giant Pocky, since $16 seemed like too much for a box of Pocky, even if it is 6 times the regular size.

strange new flavor? eh?

RAMEN PRETZ

Heh. Not even the Pizza Pretz, the one I picked up was Pumpkin Pocky. It's not bad, it just doesn't taste like anything in particular.
