There's a stinging sensation as I contemplate the recruiter who called me a month ago about a company that "has a license to print money." I told him I would rather stay in my secure position.
I wonder what moron decided it'd be a good idea to have the fiscal year end right around the winter holidays. Sure, let's make sure there's a round of firing right when folks are supposed to be enjoying themselves and are looking forward to high heating bills! That'd be great!
That sucks, but it could be worse.. They could have had 50% layoffs and only fired your left half.. Because then you'd have to look for work, and noone wants to hire someone who's only going to do a half-assed job

I am very sorry to hear that and find their timing to be less than well thought out. The same thing happened to me years ago and it is not a fun thing. Still use your holiday parties to network and remember that job postings tend to pick up in the new year. Good luck and may you find a more stable company.
