So, [livejournal.com profile] kromagg and [livejournal.com profile] doozer4200 are married now. Rather than try to get a hotel in NY, [livejournal.com profile] tpau and I went down to her parents' place in West Hartford on Friday night and drove from there yesterday and today. For a borough with a grid of streets, Manhattan is surprisingly complicated to drive around.

Yesterday was a walk in the park. Er, literally. Close friends and family got together and strolled around Fort Tryon park catching up. It was all extremely nice and relaxed, and then we went out to the appropriate Jewish deli for dinner. Today, by contrast, was, er, also very nice and relaxed. The couple had gotten legally (or as they put it liminally) married Friday, so it was an extremely laid-back ceremony equal parts Hebrew, Ent, and Klingon, in which [livejournal.com profile] tpau and I portrayed the bride and groom (for the explanatory parts, not the ritual parts). Possibly the most relaxed wedding I've been to, and a good chance to catch up with some friends I never see.

On the way back we stopped for dinner at Rein's with [livejournal.com profile] sagawizard, L., and her cousin + SO, thus leaving New York to eat a traditional New York meal.
