laurion and I headed down to Intercon Mid-Atlantic, to which I'd never been before. Nine hours is too damned far away, but it was a great time. I played in three games, none of which sucked and one of which is high on the list of four-hour larps I've played. Lots of fun staying up ridiculously late, as well, and our mysterious ape friend InterKong put in a couple of appearances. (He may have menaced sjo, a little.) ( But what is The Amish 18? )
Short but busy week, followed by relaxing Thanksgiving long weekend. The day itself was an orgy of food and liquor courtesy oshogunhb, shadowravyn, and E-who-I'm-sure-has-an-LJ [evan712]. It was good ritual feasting all around. I had originally intended to go to New York after Thursday, but for some odd reason all my friends down there were spending time visiting their families, and I didn't really feel like kicking around the city alone, so I kicked around Boston instead. Amongst other things I went to see Bombshell at the Brattle with ragingamazon and devoken. It was a trainwreck of a film, so we stuck around for the following feature, Platinum Blonde, which was slightly less of a trainwreck but may have come off better because we order pizza delivered to the film, and that improved the experience considerably.
Monday night I saw (the new) Casino Royale withprincess_muffin. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but it was a very enjoyable film. No bizarre gadgets, no elaborate lasers-and-helicopters action sequences, just completely brutal and well in-keeping with the books. Craig's not Sean Connery, but he's the first Bond since to be decent competition.
Fighting yesterday, rehearsal today after a string of annoyances (like leaving my housekeys at work, having the car rental company forget to show up at my mechanic's, and having my workstation quarantined much of the afternoon to get some spyware removed). Tired. Sleep real soon.
