Busy day. Got up at 6:30ish to prep last minute stuff to take to the SCA event, ran late anyway but it turned out alright because the whole event ran rather behind. As usual did a lot of little volunteering tasks, including spending most of the morning driving around picking up extra last-minute-emergency things for dayboard. Got a little bit of time to hang out and socialize, and even see a modicum of fencing, that being the order of the day. Then it was back to help with cleanup until court started, late as expected. I was strongly considering skipping court because I tend to dislike them for a variety of reasons, but since absolutely nothing else was happening then I stuck around and watched a lot of people I know get spiffy awards. A good event all around, although I find my main SCA activity of late has been helping to run things. Not sure if that's good or bad.

I'd planned to grab a quick dinner with asdr83 before we went to see laurion's concert in the evening, but then realized that tpau and I had only brought one car, so I had to get a ride back home to pick up the other car, making us a bit late. Then dinner took too long and we wound up missing rather a bit of the first half of the concert. Oh, well. It was good anyway, and it turned out that I know about half the Brandeis Early Music Ensemble members, so it was more interesting than I expected in some ways. Now it's late, and I need to get up fairly early tomorrow, and I am not tired but vaguely listless. That's rather annoying.

It's a valid approach -- I would say that "good" and "bad" are largely irrelevant. I'm substantially the same way, at least at local events: if I don't have something to help with, I often find myself feeling slightly at loose ends...
