I've been pretty happy with Apple's updates to OS X so far, especially given that I haven't gotten a crash since switching to 10.1. So much for that.

A few hours after upgrading to 10.2.2, I got this malevolent message while trying to access some shared Windows files (handily, albeit not perfectly, captured by digital camera). I'm really annoyed by them breaking my perfect track record in such a complete way. The only thing that should cause the whole computer to fail is a kernel panic, and if they introduced a new kernel (remotely possible), there's no obvious reason for it to choke up in this case. I'll have to put this down as another case of my amazing power to bring perfectly good software to its knees.

This is what they decided to use as their friendlier kernel panic error message. I think you know that, but it's hard to tell from your post. :)

I don't know what caused it either, as I've never had any of my 10.1.x computers crash (eep - tempting fate) and I haven't gone to 10.2.2 yet.
