Finished Preacher. Huh.

I was actually quite surprised at how quickly and cleanly things wrapped up, in what is probably the ultimate rejection of deus ex machina. Earlier on in the story I thought there'd be some kind of deeply meaningful confrontation, possibly long-winded, with a relatively pro-god happy ending. But as the finale built up I pretty much just expected everyone to die. And, in fact, Arseface is the only recurring character who does not die, in light of which things could have been a lot grimmer for the oh,-I-guess-you're-actually-going-to-really-do-that ending. It even seemed like Ennis went out of his way to keep saying "well, this may look like a happy ending, but life's not that simple, so here's another kick in the face." But ultimately I think every character got the resolution that was appropriate for them, which is a feature of which I am very fond (see Watchmen).

Also, I love the line "Well, dip me in honey and throw me to the lesbians."

I borrowed them from a friend, which is probably the only viable free course of action.

A really good library might have them. I have them, doubtless many folks you know have them. Ask around on Live Journal... Oh wait ... nevermind.
