learnedaxSaw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Pretty good movie except for Johnny Depp - how often do you get to say that?
It had some quite good bits, but it was very inconsistent. It also suffered a fair amount from the modern compulsion to humanize and strongly motivate everyone...

Date: 2005-07-21 09:17 pm (UTC)Oh, I don't know. The kids and their parents were all appropriately one-dimensional, and Charlie's family is a pretty accurate portrayal from the book, IIRC. It's only Wonka himself (and his mysteriously-added father) who get the "motivation" treatment...
