So, [livejournal.com profile] tpau, [livejournal.com profile] dkapell, and I are running Multiplied Loyaties (a larp set in Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan universe) at Arisia in, er, four days now, technically.

We are quite low on signups. Low enough that even if a moderate number of people showed up at the door we probably could not run it. If you are interested in playing this game (and will be at Arisia on Friday night, of course), please go sign up for it; if you know anyone else who might be, please tell them to go sign up for it.

well, the game filled within minutes aqt Intercon, and i am flyignto england in a week cause they reallywanted the game run over there. Arisia just sucks for this sort of thing, with no warning, no advertisment, and no LARPERs

That's odd. Back when I was going regularly, 10 years ago, I always used to think of Arisa for it's LARPs. If not for having the kids with us I would have jumped in. What time is it running?

I already have commitments for that time frame, and I could not really do a four hour block anytime at the con unfortunately. I'd love to do a LARP again. I'll have to see about getting to intercon or some other larp convention, sans kids till they're older, some time.

Basically, Arisia LARPing got sidetracked into being Camarilla-centric for several years, with the result that most of the concom thought of LARP primarily in terms of vampire games. That resulted in lessened enthusiasm and support for LARP in general at the convention, and even a few years of concerted work (especially on the part of [livejournal.com profile] ladysprite as LARP co-ordinator) couldn't really revive the support. So LARP tends to be treated as an afterthought by the concom nowadays.

Plus, the con has generally been tending to be very last-minute in getting things done lately. (For example, I only found out what panels I'm on a couple of weeks ago.) That's survivable for many things, but really not for LARP, which requires good lead times in order to work well...
