When they said Google Calendar was unsupported with Safari, they weren't kidding. It popped up an error window with no lower bound, then disabled every menu option. The app was even recalcitrant about being force quit. So, uh, I guess I won't use it then.

Way to go, Google.

Good to know. Firefox is my default browser, simply because of extensability and customizability.

Gmail had problems at first, but they were rapidly sorted out. I suspect Gcal will smooth out. As a calendar that is web accessible (and read/write) I am very happy with it, but 30boxes was a reasonable option as well. iCal is nice, and although you can publish the files online, it is read-only state....

Although, just trying it myself, I got a _very_ long error message, That starts with "TypeError - Undefined value
undefined"

And clearly goes on to have some text from my calendar in it, but it is lower bound, and I was able to move past it. I could then view the calendar, but not really edit anything. Quitting no problem. Menus still functional. Were you trying with a completely blank calendar?

No, I was logging in to a calendar I'd created here at work, so it had quite a few events trying to pop up.

I'm sure the window actually had a hypothetical lower edge, but it didn't respect the bottom edge of my screen, and was not resizable.
