scattershot update
Jul. 22nd, 2006 12:11 amI have a lot of very nice friends. I'm kind of overwhelmed.
It looks like I am most likely to be moving, probably Septemberish. I don't know where yet; I'll still be commuting to the Waltham-Lexington border, so something in the general vicinity would be preferable. I'd also prefer to split a place, just for economy of scale, but everyone who I knew was looking for housemates seems to be all set now. Oh, well, living alone wouldn't be the most efficient thing, but it wouldn't be the worst.
When you're getting divorced every song pushes your buttons.
liamstliam took a great picture of me during Saturday's blazing hot fighting. GNEW in general was pretty keen, if soupy with humidity. No rain, thankfully. Acceptable levels of carousing.
I should really start planning my Pennsic schedule. Let me know if you want to hang out at some point, or if you know of (especially) interesting stuff I should make it to.
It's funny that the Tivo is our most contested asset. Not very contested, but less replaceable and less divisible than most.
Work this week has been dominated by working out our new pair programming paradigm. It's decidedly weird, and feels very Extreme, but I'm beginning to really appreciate its benefits.
I don't know what I'm up to, after Pennsic. I have a big lack of long-term plans (aside from moving).

Date: 2006-07-22 05:57 am (UTC)As for interesting stuff at Pennsic, I am still reading Don Quixote to our merry band at 6 every evening, starting the middle Friday. It is likely that anytime you showed up, you'd be at least plied with food and drink.

Date: 2006-07-22 01:55 pm (UTC)It's true, the old shot is at rather a downer moment - I like it, but it's not happy.

Date: 2006-07-22 05:18 pm (UTC)If we didn't have a second tivo already, sadly, that would be our most contested possession, too. (Not counting the cat as a possession-- she would be a custody issue)
(there is GREAT liberty in having your own tivo, by the way :-) )
Maybe you guys could split the cost of a new (or refurbished-- mine is refurbished) tivo, w/or w/out lifetime service? I feel like someone has probably suggested that already.

Date: 2006-07-22 07:48 pm (UTC)Apologies for the circumstances, but mean-people, which is in Davis Square, is looking for a roommate to start in September, if you're interested. I'd vouch for them in a heartbeat; they're MIT folk that you probably know or know of (though no SCAdians), and if you'd like more info, just email me at my old mit address. Everyone in the house commutes to either Waltham or Lexington, so it should be commuter-friendly. They have an ad at http://boston.craigslist.org/roo/184524463.html.

rent is cheep and i have tivo and wirless. It's in webster but right off 395 so it's really not that bad, especially considering traffic in worcester ususally takes as long as the car ride to worcester.
drop me an email. The room is open now. and if you wanted to stay for a while free thats fine too.
