Back from Pennsic. Took more annoying but shorter-by-distance southern route for the return, a bit under 9 hours (plus an hour for dinner) with the rain and construction. Received two items of non-list email while away, both from [livejournal.com profile] tpau.

It was a long and deep war, predominantly good though with several not-so-pleasant bits. Much good fighting, and cooking, and performing. Never enough time with friends, particularly those who live far away.

Operating at a steep sleep deficit, which last night's two hours did not help so much. Time for a shower and a lot of sleep.

Welcome back! And let me know if you'd like to get together some time when you're recalibrated.

It was great to spend some time with you, although it was certainly not enough. Come visit!

Well, I did say I would. As I recall we were talking about October, so maybe I will take some extra time around Columbus Day weekend, if that works out alright on your end.

(Of course, I also pulled up Google's maps and thought "1000 miles? I could drive out for a weekend...", but I may be channeling 20-year-old Rick there.)

Works for me... I'll check with everyone else.

And driving... well, I've done that drive, by myself, in a day. It was kind of ouchy in the last few hours. And I would have been in NO mood to turn around and do it again a few days later. Of course, that was also at the end of two weeks of driving up and down the east coast, so maybe it wouldn't be that bad...
