Went to see Ian Anderson at the BPC tonight. It was kind of a cross between a talk show and a concert, with Ian in very chatty form and a mix of new stuff and old material in strange new forms. You haven't heard Locomotive Breath until you've heard the kazoo solo. Typically for Tull ("I like the Tull bit just fine, it sounds like the villain form the next James Bond movie... it's the Jethro bit that gives me the wobblies. It's like some hillbilly thing") my favorite bit was probably the side A closer, as it were, in this case a high-energy version of Bach's Bourrée on which Ian showed off his ability to, well, not exactly sing but at least keen while flauting.
