tpau's birthday. Very funny show, even without the Broadway cast. I was worried that it wouldn't be terribly original, but there's quite a bit of new stuff that I think works quite well as a sharp parody of its new medium. In fact, despite working in most of the major bits from the film, there's intentionally not much relation to the source material here; the Python original is much more bleak, absurdist, and to some extent intentionally rough around the edges. All of these are mixed blessings. This is a polished, coherent, pleasant show, that although certainly more mainstream, also fits rather better within its own, er, idiom.
