les bâtards

komos, recently returned, pointed out to me that my car was on our cross street, and I might want to move it. See, on a somewhat random set of Monday mornings the city allegedly attempts to send in street cleaners, and tickets anyone who's obstructing them. This is not especially well posted, and particularly irritating because of how often there is no parking at all on our actual street (in spite of everyone else having driveways they never use, naturally...). So I go out to move my car, and find that it's already been ticketed at "1 AM", which it of course it isn't yet. I go back and look at the one sign mentioning this No Parking rule (there isn't a sign on our block, but there's one kind of behind a tree on the next block), which helpfully tells me that the times it's illegal to park are 12:01 AM - 7:00 AM. I assume that it's worded so precisely because at the stroke of midnight an officer starts walking down the street writing tickets, creating a very slight increase in the city's revenue from the traditional row of cars marked with an orange citation every 2nd or 3rd Monday morning. Bastards.
