Dec. 6th, 2003 11:19 pmWhen I was living carless in a college dorm, I was thankful that blizzards did not impinge upon my little sheltered world of ready food and no shoveling. I did not look forward to a day when I would need to actually deal with normal snow-related interactions. Today was such a day, and I do not like it any better now.
Perhaps if I had not had to dig out three cars, two of them in 30'-long snow banks up to the door handle, I would be more sanguine. Those who can successfully enjoy a day indoors curled up in the warmth are those who do not have police officers cheerfully assuring them that the tow truck will be here any minute to take their cars away.
It might also help if a friend had not rolled her car 360 degrees this morning. Not a good day. Good thing it's over.
