(Actually it was originally [livejournal.com profile] morgi's flute, but she didn't really want it anymore, and I developed an instant affection for it...)

It's not that I begrudge lending my flute to [livejournal.com profile] tpau's (much) younger brother for a class, because he honestly uses it a lot more than I would be. It's just that sometimes this deep need to play the flute sneaks into my fingers, and I have no useful way of sating it. I could play my guitar instead, but it's just not the same. There's something unique about the delicate purity of the flute's tone that I find thoroughly serene. So for now my fingers drum incessantly and I listen to a lot of Jethro Tull. Maybe Ian Anderson can lull my inner flautist back to sleep for a while...

yeah, well, i never said i played well. i don't actually have carpal tunnel per se, just some less severe variant. i don't know of any programmers who don't have to be careful about RSI.

as for boredom... take up a lot of hobbies.
