earlier today I got spam from myself (bad enough), at earth.cs... it's Spam from the Past! WhooooOOOOooo!

(Earth was, I believe, the second machine purchased by the computer science department. It's about the size and weight of a VW Bug (the original), and can be throughly whipped by a modern low-end laptop. Also, it's been off for ten years.)

I've occasionally made the claim that I have the computing power of 1964 on my desk. It is meant as more of a joke than normal, in that I haven't actually researched it: but I do idly wonder what year my computer can outperform all the computers on the planet actually is.
