was in very bad mood. went and hung out at lerta's party though, and am feeling much better. is late though, and given last night's ~4 hours of sleep, think will choose sleep over lengthy writing... for now.

Shucks howdy

I just finished the last episode of Cowboy Bebop. Very fitting conclusion, but totally hardcore blues. Reminded me again how stunningly good the show is; I was specifically surprised by some of the subtler symbolism, e.g. blood running into the eye.

A while back I was thinking that although I had seen a lot of entertaining anime, very little of it struck me as good art (in the broad sense, although the drawing of much of it was middling as well). Maybe Evangelion (though I should finish it now that I have the box set), maybe Ghost in the Shell. Now I would say definitely Bebop.
